When Titans Publish Bun Toons! YAY!

Oh my GOD, the internet is SO 2013...

Oh my GOD, the internet is SO 2013…

The dust has settled.  The shock has worn off.  Fandom collected has calmed down over the news that Marvel…gasp…will soon be publishing STAR WARS comics.

Considering that Disney and Marvel are now the same company, and that Disney recently bought the rights to the LucasFilms library, this is hardly too surprising, but people decided to become surprised after all.

But the real surprises are what’s in store for the characters…

marvel star wars colour websizeIf Marvel is taking over the publishing of any other iconic characters in the future, I hope they get the rights to Green Lantern.  I’d bet it would make a good movie…

Ty the Guy OUT!

Besides the weird green rabbit Jedi Knight, I can’t recall any other problems with the Marvel Star Wars comics…

Except maybe they didn't exactly get Yoda on-model in the early days...

Except they had a wee bit of trouble getting Yoda on-model in the early days…

  1. It’s nice to know that weird green rabbit stayed in someone else’s brain besides mine.
Also, I was too young to appreciate Carmine Infantino.

  2. I hope the Zeltrons finally get their own spin-off film!

  3. Dang, I can not help but read the lettering in the Jawa panel in a high-pitched, sing-songy voice. I guess Jawas have leaked into our culture somewhat.

    Cheers!

  4. That purple Yoda looks like some hideous creature from an old “Tales from the Crypt” issue. o_O

  5. If I recall correctly, they started production of these comics long before seeing what Yoda actually looked like. There are a few “alternate” takes on a few of the Muppets from the films. It has been years since I read these, but they left an impression on my then eight year old mind :)

  6. The impression I had gotten, based on no actual information whatsoever, is that Marvel and DC had come to the conclusion that the key to the business was owning the characters, and licensed properties weren’t worth bothering with. Now Marvel’s parent company owns the Star Wars characters, so they’re worth bothering with.

  7. Nothing wrong with making Han Solo a black man in my book. However, turning him into a racist stereotype….

  8. No more Doug Wheatley Star Wars? :( :( :(

  9. I like the first and the third panel the best. And the second (I got the reference). And the fourth. The title is good looking too.
Also, Indiana vs. Doom…I wanna see that.

  10. Jazz in wasn’t a Jedi.

  11. Jaxxon not jazz darned spell correct!
