What I want to know is who bested Usagi Yojimbo. Also, that photo of George Reeves breaks my heart. Who knows? Maybe that was the event that was on his mind that fateful night. Unless, of course, you subscribe to the theory he was whacked. Though, I suppose there’s really no reason he couldn’t have still been thinking about that moment that night. So, yeah, until someone proves otherwise I’m choosing to believe that appearing as Superman with the Easter Bunny was the last thing George Reeves thought about in this world.
Believe it or not, I was considering including a knocked out or dead Usagi on the ground in one of those first panels, but decided to draw only generic bunnies, as I wanted to keep the “famous” bunny visual out of sight, out of mind, so Bugs was more of a surprise when he arrived. Usagi and Hoppy the Marvel Bunny were originally in the layouts, substituted for non-specific bunnies when I drew it. The process is complex….And as for George, he was shot, dude, he didn’t kill himself, it’s open and shut, says I.
_Definitely_ the correct choice to have Bugs “winning” this one!
