Death Threat Bun Toons! YAY!

It's the only threat my kind understands.

What I love most about working in the comics industry, is the fans.  The loving, passionate fans…

Of course this last bout of death threats is nothing new.  Apparently there were death threats when Shakespeare killed off Falstaff and brought him back as robotic life model decoy in Henry VIth, part 4.

In case anyone is worried, Dan is still alive and well…I spoke to him on the phone last night.  Although, it DID sound a little like a computer generated voice now that I recall the conversation.  Hey, wait….when did Dan start asking me about the proper functioning of my input busses?

  1. The problem with Robo-Falstaff wasn’t that he was robotic. It’s that he was set in the year 2099. Seriously, who the hell would do such a thing?

  2. Ty, why do you always get my imagination going in the most seriously incorrect direction? Come, now, something about a tattoo you must have that can only be read in the privacy of your marriage… Or favorite strip club. I must get these thoughts from my mind…

  3. Glad to hear…your marriage is…getting bigger, Ty….??

Cover of Dan and Spider-Man illustrated by Todd Nauck. That’s totally just a guess, but I’m going to make it my final answer. Do I win the million?

  4. I think this whole recent mess with Spider-Man is a very silly plot development, like you’d find in particularly juvenile and uninspired Saturday morning cartoons.

But then again, I am extremely picky with comics.

  5. It’s hard to be completely objective about it, as Dan’s a friend of mine, but I’m happily entertained by the story, and it’s setting me a reading. More than any of that Madam Web/Spider-Totem/Generational spirit-Spider stuff that JMS was up to. Or any or that “shoot-Aunt-May” series that preceded Brand New Day. It might not compare to the classic Lee-Ditko-Romita-Kane Spider-Man….but I can’t think of too many Spider-Man runs that have been this much fun in the modern era. Whaddaya want from Spidey if not this kind of story?

  6. I really like your Bun Toons, man! I even got my wife hooked to it. Now she asks me if theres any new Bun Toon strip out so she can read it.
