FanExpo Canada: FRIDAY

Once again, I’ll be back sitting at P57 (changed from what’s in the program) today, 10am – 7pm! Doesn’t look like I have any panels or workshops scheduled today, so I’ll be at my table (unless I can sneak away and find some dollar bins! I’ve got a long list of comics I need to find to finish off some mini-series so I can finally read ’em!).

I have a commissions list and a pile of sketchcovers I’ve done.

FanExpo Canada: Thursday

I’ll be sitting at P16A beside the always incredible Leonard Kirk, between 4 and 9 (I think the con starts at 3pm but with traffic and lineups and having to get my passes, let’s play it safe!). I will have Star Trek books, sketchcovers, Batman 66 issues and lots more. I’ll be doing sketches (Keiren will have a list). I don’t charge for signing books but I will be asking people to donate to one of my absolute favourite charities, Hero Initiative so they can keep up all the good work they do to help out comics people in need.

I’ll be spending all my time at my table except when;

I will be part of a sketch duel against…TOM GRUMMETT at 5:45 pm in Room 716.

I will be teaching a workshop, Comic Writing/Storytelling:  How to tell a story in pictures at 7:15pm in Room 703. (If you can’t make the workshop or would like to take my entire course on Layouts, called HOW TO DRAW COMICS, there are still a few spaces open. Info is HERE.)

Montreal!

No conventions or appearances this June for family reasons, so my next convention will be Montreal Comiccon. It’s one of my favourite cities so I’m always happy for a chance to visit.

As with my other appearances I will be doing pre-con commissions. Info is on the page:  COMMISSIONS. I have to update the list of available sketchcovers when I find ’em all…if there’s one you’re interested in let me know and I’ll see if I can find it at my LCS.

Pre-Con Sketchcover Commissions 2016

I generally only do commissions on-site at conventions but after a number of requests, I did some in advance last year. I was pleased at the results (I like working at home in my drawing chair!) so I’ll be doing it again this year. At the moment, I’m limiting this to sketchcovers. As long as a convention is still listed, I’ll be taking commission requests for it but I am limiting numbers for each con.

Batman Day!

So Saturday September 26 2015 is Batman Day! I’ve been invited to spend the day at One Million Comix in downtown Toronto. My current plan is to be at the store roughly 12 – 5pm.

I’ll be signing books (bring your own or buy some at the store), and doing sketches. As it’s a limited period of time, obviously there’s a limit to how many sketches I’ll be able to do…so if anyone knows in advance that they’d like to get a sketchcover, you can send me an email at tybunny@gmail.com. Single figures are $60, two figures are $90, markers and copics.

All covers will be available for pick-up ONLY at the comic store (531 Yonge Street, Toronto) on the day of the event. Payment can be in cash at the convention or you can PayPal me before pickup.

Counting down the days until ECCE and…

It’s only a little over a month until Keiren and I fly off to Moncton NB for the one day East Coast Comic Expo. We’re both excited to be guests at the convention, and looking forward to visiting Moncton for the first time ever. (Except for the part where there’s a plane. I am not looking forward to that part. –Keiren) But…before the con, I will be teaching a three day version of my workshop, PENCILING THE PAGE:  Layouts for comics–the language of storytelling with pictures. 

The workshop is being co-presented by the ECCE and by McKenzie College , with the latter hosting it. If you’re on the east coast and interested in taking the workshop, click the link HERE and register. Although this will be a bigger class than I teach in Toronto, space is limited, and it’s first-come first-served.

Na na na na…Batman and Ty Templeton!

The hardcover Batman ’66 Volume 1 is out TODAY at your Local Comic Book Store!! The Penguin issue I did is in there (written by Jeff Parker). (I think the Bookworm one, written by Tom Peyer will be in Volume 2 which I think comes out next month?) This was some of the most fun I’ve had working in comics (right up until my current gig, drawing a six issue Batman ’66 Meets The Green Hornet mini, written by Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman, with covers by the one and only Alex Ross).

I will be at a Release Party for the book THIS Saturday April 5 at The Comic Book Lounge + Gallery, 7-11pm. There will be copies of the book available and copies of the two issues I’ve done so far (#2 and #6).

I’ll have some of my artwork with me, some prints, and sharpened pencils and fresh markers so I can do sketches and sign books.

This is a party–so cosplayers are absolutely welcome! Pull out your Catwoman or Joker costume and join us!

Busy Weekend at Stadium Comics in Brampton

So I can’t come to the Bun Toon right now.  I shall Bun Toon when I get back from Stadium Comics…(might even come up with my idea while I’m there).  I’ll be sketching, and signing copies of Marvel’s free comic book for today, one of my Ultimate Spidey Adventures.

But fear not, fellow Tooners of the Bun, I shall be here fresh and early tomorrow with your weekend Rabbit Funnies.

It’s Free Halloween Comic Book Day, I get to go give out free comics.  It’s like DOUBLE CHRISTMAS!!
