Fan Expo Canada: LAST DAY!!

Today is officially the last day of Fan Expo Canada 2012. Hard to believe it’s gone by so quickly–although it’s a bit of a blur at this point. So many days and so many people!

I’ll have Sketchbooks, Bigg Times, copies of Bill the Boy Wonder:  The Secret Co-Creator of Batman, original art and pages from Bun Toons; all for sale. I’m doing sketches, and I’ll sign your comics!

Stop by my table in Artists Alley, P30A and say hi! And don’t forget to get a copy of HOLMES INCORPORATED #3 while you’re at the con. If you don’t see them at my table, head to Booth 614, or Rachael Well’s booth A165.

And don’t forget–if you’re interested in taking any of my classes at COMIC BOOK BOOTCAMP, you can ask me or Keiren Smith about them, at P30A/B. Come by and pick up a flyer.

Fan Expo Canada 2012: Friday

Back to the convention today!

I’ll be doing a workshop at 4pm, Creating a Character, with my great friend and sometime collaborator Dan Slott. Been a few years since Dan and I’ve been in a room together; I’m looking forward to spending time with him this weekend and to doing the workshop with him. He wasn’t able to do it last year as he had to cancel out of the con (because of the hurricane) and I ended up doing the workshop on my own and really enjoying it. I can’t imagine how much more fun it will be with Dan.

I will be sitting in Artists Alley at P30A–look for me there. I have original art, sketchbooks, copies of  Bigg Time, Bill the Boy Wonder:  The Secret Co-Creator of Batman, and most of my original teeth. Although I’m not selling or sketching my teeth.

AND!! Don’t forget–copies of HOLMES INCORPORATED #3 are available for sale today. Look for artist Christopher Yao in Booth 614, at Rachael Well’s booth A165, and at the Templeton-Smiths tables in Artists Alley, P30A and P30B. Stop by and pick up your copy!!

New Mike Parobeck Pages

I got a couple of scans out of Ty this afternoon…he’s up to his neck with the usual deadlines (he has a script he’s desperately trying to get finished but got pushed aside by two days of teaching; deciding to write one tribute and write/pencil/ink and letter a second one to Harvey Pekar; and having to spend a tiny bit of time acknowledging the family when we got back from a brief vacation yesterday).

He hasn’t answered my queries as to price yet (I’m actually emailing him as he sits in his studio in the basement! I’m only two floors up! But, he’s locked his door and is “incommunicado” at the moment, as he tries to get some writing done) so I’ll that information when I get it.  But if you’re interested in these pages, you can check out the pricing and shipping info, and email me/us/him at tytempletonart@gmail.com. I’ll let you know the price, and you can decide if you’re still interested…  First come, first served…

First up is a page from Elongated Man #3, page 19

11″ x 17″, on board, pencils by Mike Parobeck, inks by Ty Templeton

New Pages…

Way, way back in September when we started up this blog, I posted an entry on the art Ty did for the Jerry Seinfeld and Superman American Express Commercials.  Just a bit of intro and a link to the commercials.

Now, Ty’s decided to put a couple of the pages up for sale. He loves the Krypto page–he’s always had a fondness for Krypto the Superdog (cannot type that without instantly hearing the theme song for the recent Krypto cartoon. Ty saw every single episode so I know the song well) and even tried to pitch a story or two to DC Comics.

I don’t remember all the details of this assignment, so I’ll have to get Ty to add something later. I know that Seinfeld had a particular Superman in mind, and DC Comics knew Ty was the man who was going to be able to give him that.

The Seinfeld-Superman pages are here…

Gambit vs. Gambit Xmen video box cover is here…
