Best Bun Toon Ever? Yay!

It only comes but once a year!

It only comes but once a year!

Sorry this was a bit late, my computer has been bitten by something, and I have to upload on the wife’s machine.  Sheesh!

This week included Bat-Day, the 75th Birthday of the guy who pays my mortgage.  So in celebration, I give you…

BEST BATMAN EVER

There.  Now you don’t have to read Batman comics any more, I’ve topped them all.

Ty the Guy OUT!

Batman251

In case anyone was wondering, THIS is the best Batman comic ever…and if you ask at a convention, I can prove it.

  1. YES! Thanks ever so Ty for doing this!
You have summed it all up perfectly! 🙂

  2. I would think the best Batman story would have an itty bitty bit of Catwoman in there somewhere, but otherwise, you hit all the main points.

Congrats on the rerelease of your earliest The Batman Adventures work Ty, in the form of a big old book, no less! TELL me you get residuals from that…cause really now…

    • Wait…when did they put out my work in a big old book? I don’t know anything about that…

  3. “The Joker’s Five-Way Revenge.” I wholeheartedly agree. Both the best Batman story of all time, and Denny O’Neil’s tour de force.

  4. Reblogged this on My Little Underground and commented:
As people who read this blog regularly will know, I’m somewhat disparaging of most modern superhero comics for being identikit, predictable, badly written rubbish. This week DC Comics have been getting people to ignore again the fact Bill Finger was one of the main creators of Batman by plugging something called ‘Batman Day’, which is designed to cash in on the added interest in comics this week thanks to San Diego Comic Con. It’s really just an excuse to part people from their money.

Ty Templeton currently draws Batman ’66 for DC and he’s done this work of sheer genius which diffuses the last 25 years of Batman stories into a few panels. It’s bloody brilliant.

    Enjoy.

  5. Two of the all-time great Neal Adams Batman images.. that cover and the one-page panel of Batman running along the beach trying to catch the Joker.

  6. Charles H. Bryan

Batman #251: I totally and completely agree. Action, escapes, detective work, and Robin, rather then being dead, is simply away at college. I have been careful ever since to wipe my shoes.

  7. Hey, Guy, do you still have the Batman strips you did for the DC in house publication back in the day?

  8. I’ve long ago lost the original art for them, I’m almost certain…but I’ve still got copies of ’em somewhere, probably in the Shoptalks themselves. I coloured one or two of them and put them up on Bun Toons on Bat Days past.
